67.-Kowloon Walled City, New Village Type Houses and Site Formation, $34,000. To continue the reprovisioning of villagers from Kowloon Walled City in a new area to the north east of Chuk Un.

68.--Exhumation of Chinese Cemeteries, $1,000.-To provide for the re-

moval of Chinese graves which may obstruct development.

69.-Laying out new areas, Chinese Cemeteries, $2,000.-To provide new

burial areas in existing cemeteries.

70.-Formation of Access Road to New Cemeteries area North & East of Hammer Hill (1st Section), $15,000.-To permit the commencement of work on an access road to this new cemetery area.

71.-Formation of Cemetery Area for one year's burials North and East of Hammer Hill, $12,000.-It is considered that the time is opportune to commence the closure of the Central Chinese Cemetery area in Kowloon. The sum asked for under this sub-head will permit one year's burial in part of the area which it is intended will ultimately replace the old Central Chinese Cemetery.

WATER WORKS.

72.-Back Lane Service Pipes, $7,000.-To provide for the extension of subsidiary service pipes in back lanes in newly developed properties to obviate the excessive cutting of roads which would be necessary for direct connection to principal mains. These subsidiary mains are even- tually paid for by house owners when connections are requested.

73.-Distribution Mains, $7,000.-To provide for water mains in newly

developed areas.

PORT WORKS.

74.-Refuse Dump at Kun Tong, $20,000.-To provide for the handling and covering over with soil in a controlled dump of a large portion of the Colony's refuse.

75.-Refuse Boat Pier at Kweilin Street, Shamshuipo, $2,000.-Payment of

retention money.

PUBLIC HEALTH & BUILDINGS ORDINANCE.

76. Compensation and Resumptions, $8,000.--This vote covers expenditure incurred in the acquisition of buildings and land necessitated by Town Planning Improvement.

ANTI-MALARIAL WORKS,

77.—Anti-malarial works including cost of resumption, $10,000.—This vote is for anti-malarial work in Kowloon. It provides for the training of stream courses, and draining of swamps to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes.

BUILDINGS.

Sub-head 78.-Market and Site Preparation at Tsun Wan, $17,000.-To permit the commencement of site preparation on which this market will ultimately be built.

79.-Block House and Well, Ta Ku Ling, $30,000.-To provide for the replacement by a proper building of the existing Ta Ku Ling Block House which was originally an old Chinese house. It is considered preferable to meet Police requirements by doing this rather than by making any big addition to Lin Ma Hang Police Station.

GENERAL WORKS.

80.-Roads, $5,000. To cover expenditure in connection with the develop-

ment of Sha Tau Kok, Taipo Market and Un Long.

81.—Drainage.

(a) Training Nullahs, $2,000.—To be expended in perman-

ent nullah training.

(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works, $3,000.—To provide for miscellaneous drainage works made necessary by development at Sha Tan Kok, Taipo Market and Un Long.

83.-Miscellaneous, $5,000.—This vote is available for all Departments and provides funds for small works which arise during the year but are considered too small for a separate vote.

84.-Water Works, Miscellaneous, $3,000.—For general extension to Gov- ernment mains and service supplies required by new development.

MISCELLANEOUS.

85.--Barbed Wire Barricades at Sheung Shui, Au Tau, Ping Shan and Sai Kung Police Station, $3,850.-To replace the existing barbed wire fence by an apron fence entanglement.

86.—Additional Cells and Stores at Taipo Police Station, $3,500.—Extra accommodation is required at this Station which is a collecting point for prisoners taken in the New Territories. The additional store is required for records and small stores.

87.-Compensation and Resumptions, $2,000.-For minor resumptions which become necessary during the year in connection with road, street or other improvements.

WATER WORKS.

88.-Water Supply at Castle Peak, $7,000. To provide a water supply for

this district which will serve expected development.
